About Us

VIKASH is state level registered, non-governmental, not-for-profit voluntary organization dedicated to the cause of Rural and Urban Social Development. It is established under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) during the year 1990 as a voluntary organization by a group of social workers to campaign for rural and urban development and to help people to overcome poverty, illiteracy and disease. It sincerely and voluntarily works to serve the needs and priorities of underprivileged and vulnerable groups, especially women, children, older persons and backward classes and to make improvements in the quality of their lives.

Our goal is to improve the socio-economic and educational status of rural and urban poor, underprivileged and backward classes like Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Class (OBC) through various approaches including voluntary actions and new initiatives.

  • 200 children have been mainstreamed through implementation of Child Labor Schools supported by Project Director, National Child Labor Project, Ganjam.

  • Baseline survey on Child Labor Purushottampur Block

  • Outreach activity, focused group discussion and public awareness generation about child rights protection, causes of child abuse, types of child rights violation and measures for prevention of child rights.

  • We have formed & strengthened 60 numbers of MAS (Mahila Arogya Samiti), 15 numbers of WKS (Ward Kalyan Samiti) in Berhampur Municipal Corporation area.

  • 690 Number of frontline health workers (ASHAs & ANMs) trained on child health.

  • 165 number of villages covered for TB Awareness Programme.

  • 6000 number of families covered for bed-net impregnation to eradicate malaria.

  • 15600 number of beneficiaries covered for Malaria Awareness Programme.

  • 500 number of participants covered in the training program on Naturopathy and Yoga.

  • 2250 number of children got treatment in the Free Health Check Up camps.

  • 280 number of Training & capacity building program organized for Gaon Kalyan Samiti (GKS).

  • Agriculture Programme implemented in Polasara, Purushottampur, Digapahandi and Kabisurya Nagar Block under Rashtriya Krish Vikash Yojana(RKVY), Department of Agriculture, Government of Odisha.
  • Management of National Child Labour Project Special School at Ralaba village under Hinjili Block in Ganjam supported by the Project Director NCLP ,Ganjam under the Ministry of Labor  , Government of India.
  • Construction of Rural Latrine supported by DWSM, Ganjam, Chatrapur.
  • Capacity Building Training Programme for Members of Three-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions supported by State Institute of Rural Development, (SIRD) Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Odisha.
  • Environment Protection Awareness Programme supported by Ministry of Forest & Environment, Government of India.
  • National Environment Awareness Campaign supported by Centre for Environmental Studies, Forest & Environment Dept., Govt. of Odisha.
