About Us

VIKASH is state level registered, non-governmental, not-for-profit voluntary organization dedicated to the cause of Rural and Urban Social Development. It is established under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) during the year 1990 as a voluntary organization by a group of social workers to campaign for rural and urban development and to help people to overcome poverty, illiteracy and disease. It sincerely and voluntarily works to serve the needs and priorities of underprivileged and vulnerable groups, especially women, children, older persons and backward classes and to make improvements in the quality of their lives.

VIKASH firmly believes in ensuring that the support facilities provided by Government and other development agencies actually reach the needy poor people and to ensure that it is done with due respect given to the person’s dignity and rights. It tries to ensure that in all spheres of life: physical, social, emotional and intellectual, their rights are defended irrespective of one’s individuality. It strongly believes in the principle of “working together with people”. The organisation is working closely with the community and extends its support services to one and all whenever in need. Vision

VIKASH visualizes a society free from poverty, illiteracy, disease and violence. It has a proactive vision to act as catalyst to focus on needs and priorities of people and to rebuild the rural society through empowerment of women and youths. Sustainable development of the state would be achieved through people’s participation in development programmes and effective utilization of natural resources.

Goal

Our goal is to improve the socio-economic and educational status of rural and urban poor, underprivileged and backward classes like Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Class (OBC) through various approaches including voluntary actions and new initiatives.

Our Activities

  • Mobile Health Unit (Arogya Plus), implemented in Khallikota Block of Ganjam District supported by Zilla Swasthya Samiti(ZSS), Ganjam, under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha.

  • Training of ASHA under 6 & 7 Module supported by (CDMO, Ganjam) under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha.

  • ACSM TB Awareness Programme under taken in 105 villages covering 26 Gram Panchayats of Purusottampur Block supported by LEPRA Society, Bhubaneswar, Odisha through CDMO, Ganjam.

  • TB Awareness Programme on promotion of DOTs supported UNION, Bhubaneswar through District TB Officer (DTO),CDMO, Ganjam

  • Malaria Mosquito-bed net impregnation Programme implemented in 3 Blocks of Ganjam district like Kabisurya Nagar, Purushottampur and Polasara Block under CDMO Ganjam

  • Malaria Awareness Programme implemented in 26 GPs of Purushottampur Block.

  • VIKASH organization is a Master Trainer of ASHA Thematic Training Programme (Module-I)

  • Naturopathy and Yoga programme implemented in Purushottampur Block supported by AYUSH, NIN, Pune, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Deptt, Govt. of India

  • 6 & 7 Module Asha Training Programme 6 nos of Blocks in Ganjam district .

  • ANMs Training Programme of HBNC 6 nos blocks in Ganjam district

  • ASHA 3 days Residental Refresher Training Programme 5 no of Blocks i.e. Purushottampur, Polasara, Kodala, Khallikote & Ganjam.

  • Community Process Activities organized in Slum areas of Berhampur Municipality Corporation under National Urban Health Mission(NUHM), Ganjam

  • ASHAs 5 days Residetnal NCD Training Programme 6 nos of Block i.e Purushottampur, Baguniapada,Polasara, Kabisurya Nagar, Ganjam & Chatrapur.

  1. Agriculture Programme implemented in Polasara, Purushottampur, Digapahandi and Kabisurya Nagar Block under Rashtriya Krish Vikash Yojana(RKVY), Department of Agriculture, Government of Odisha.
  2. Management of National Child Labour Project Special School at Ralaba village under Hinjili Block in Ganjam supported by the Project Director NCLP ,Ganjam under the Ministry of Labor  , Government of India.
  3. Construction of Rural Latrine supported by DWSM, Ganjam, Chatrapur.
  4. Capacity Building Training Programme for Members of Three-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions supported by State Institute of Rural Development, (SIRD) Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Odisha.
  5. Environment Protection Awareness Programme supported by Ministry of Forest & Environment, Government of India.
  6. National Environment Awareness Campaign supported by Centre for Environmental Studies, Forest & Environment Dept., Govt. of Odisha.
  7. Vocational Training Programme (Tailoring and Typewriting) for rural women supported by Women’s polytechnic Berhampur, Ganjam under Ministry of HRD Govt. of India ,New Delhi
  8. Cultural Development Programme supported by the Department of Tourism & Culture, Government of Odisha.
  9. Capacity Building Training Programme for PRIs Members of Purusottampur Block supported by CENTUM Learning Ltd., New Delhi(a Bharati Airtel Company Ltd)
  10. Awareness Generation Progrmme (AGP) for Women supported by State Social Welfare Advisory Board, Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
  11. Organized Awareness Programe on Right to Information (RTI)
  12. Implemented Mentor Club Programme of Nehru Yuba Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India.
  13. Formed 26 Nos. of Jala O Parimala Committed in Hinjilicut Block through RWSS, Ganjam.
  14. Formed 3 Nos. of Farmers Club in Purushottampur Block with the supported By NABARD.
  15. Organized Financial Inclusion Awareness Programme in Kabisurya Nagar and Purushottampur Block with the supported by NABARD.
  16. Undertaken Social Audit Programme of MGNREGS programme in Purushottampur Block.
  17. Observation of Consumer Awareness Programmee in Ganjam Kalaparishda Berhampur supported by Consumer Welfare Department Govt. of Odisha.
  18. Observation of World Water day Awareness Programme 3 no of Blocks in Ganjam district. Supported by District Water Sanitation Mission, Ganjam.
